Thanks to ART & ART.......

Woohooo, another addict added to the fraternity of load tinkerers. Not only do you become familiar with your rifles but you begin to really understand the hidden attributes that make them the wonderfully complex and yet simple pieces of functional art that they are. The first time you grass an animal with ammunition that you have loaded yourself will put all this into perspective. As someone said elsewhere, hunting is the most expensive way to get free meat.

Looks like you have a nice set up Charlie.

Have fun working up the ideal load!

Stout table top Charlie, welcome to the habit.

Art SR instructed that I build it so! Hope that I can learn to reload as well as some of you fellow AH members.

Very nice reloading room, it's a great way to enjoy the time between hunts!

Charlie, Art and I had almost as much fun getting you introduced (read addicted) to reloading as you did. The next time I come to your house and watch you do your thing it will be with a glass in my hand filled with two or three fingers of Kentucky's finest from that extensive collection of yours!!

Several bottles of good stuff waiting!

Congratulations!
I had to learn as I went.
Thank god for books an YouTube.
I am still learning a lot.
With the self taught methods, I feel I am at a very talented intermediate level in some areas, but a complete noob in others.

That is ok though, I know what I don’t know and am extra cautious.

Helping Charlie get started in reloading was very easy. He had read several book on the subject and was very familiar with the process before we even started. All he really need was some guidance on brass prep and die set-up and he was good to go.

Charlie looks like you have a great setup. You will find that your reloads are generally more accurate.

Art thanks for the help and being willing to give me a day of instruction! I can practice a lot more now!

Ordered a Lee Custom Factory Crimping Die for the 470 NE yesterday. Spoke to the Lee customer service department and sent them a Dummy round we made up a coup,e of weeks ago. Very nice people.

Hmm, I need me one of those. Can you PM me who you talked to and the phone number? Perhaps they can make two.

I use one of their factory crimping dies on every cartridge from 30-06 to 375 H&H. I like being able to see where it’s crimping.

I don’t like their collet neck sizers. They never seem to have a small enough mandrel. You have to send yours back in and spec the size you want it reduced to. Could take several tries worst case.

Have you tried any of your handloads yet Charlie?

Have not been too cold and work seems to be as hectic as ever

A couple of additions to the reloading area today! New Lee Classic Cast Single Stage press with Inline Fabrication stand installed. Maps of Africa and Kansas put on the walls so I can dream of hunting. Finally gun cases in elephant, zebra and giraffe hung up.

Very nice !!!!

Man I can’t let my wife see how organized this is! Mine looks like a disaster area!

Looking good Charlie, we will have to get together soon and do some reloading.
