got one this morning I’d like to get mounted, gorgeous bird and not too shot up - does anybody have any recommendations for really good taxidermist who are experienced with waterfowl? I live outside of Houston, and was considering B & B I pass through Dallas quite often though and would be open to anybody there as well if they are considered to be better. This will be my first duck getting mounted, so would love to see who people have had good experiences with previously thank you! Picture attached of bird.

That is a beautiful duck. Congratulations!

Here is my teal I just got back yesterday from @gizmo at Top of Texas Taxidermy in Amarillo. I'm sure he can help you out.

There are a bunch of outstanding bird taxidermists in Texas. Do a google search for “Best bird taxidermist in Texas” and you’ll get some good suggestions. Then Go actually visit them and see their work, meet them in person-as many as you can, then make your final selection. Avian Arts would be a good place to start-

I dropped mine off to Kristen Ottea at Otteas taxidermy in San Antonio, Texas. She does not do the birds in house - But uses an older gentleman that worked for her dad back in the day. I was happy to have her facilitate the work. She runs a trust worthy business.

Turn around was a little under a year but I’m happy with the work.

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
