Hello everyone, this year we will be kicking off our new fully operational upland bird hunting facilities. We would like to invite y’all this season to come and hunt with us. All hunts will include guides, meals, lodging, sporting clays on our modified 5 stand course, bird cleaning, and a lot of trigger time on fast flying birds as well as fishing on our lakes. Bird hunts will include a mixed bag of pheasant, quail, and chukkar (when available).
Each hunt will have a 2 hunter minimum and be for 2 days and 3 nights.
$1500 per hunter

Not included:
State License (5 Day non-resident) ($45.00)
Upland Bird Endorsement ($7.00)
Transportation to or from the ranch though airport pickup/drop off can be arranged in advance. Taxidermy, tips, anything not included as part of the offer.

We are also super excited to introduce the 3 ladies that will be helping provide you with an unbelievable experience. These 3 are registered Drahthaar’s and have passed all their field trials. Lady, who is 6, has had 10’s of thousands of birds hunted over her. Next is Vegas and Maggie who are both 2. Both have had a ton of field experience and are absolute machines.

What’s the bird count per person? The Quail, wild or captive?

Everyone has the opportunity to limit on pheasant and quail per day. During quail season it is a mixed bag of native and released birds. We have been in a drought so native bird numbers are down but they are present. We will work hard to ensure hunters have opportunities at both wild and released birds. Wild pheasant are not present in our part of the panhandle so the pheasant will all be released birds. All birds are mature good flyers and we have searched far and wide to get the best birds available. I will have chukkar early on in the season and will release them as well. We will hunt them as long as the birds are available.

There was a question in a PM on what type of quail we would be hunting. The bulk of both native and released birds will be Bob’s. There is a small number of native scaled quail that we see every now and then so it is possible to have an opportunity at small covey. They used to be the bulk of the quail in our area years ago but the Bob’s are now the predominant quail species.

Erik, your newly built lodge looks very comfortable. Looks like a nice retreat where you can keep up with business between having an enjoyable vacation. Well done!

Thank you. I hope you get an opportunity to come back up and check it out before too long.

Is that my ram above the TV?

Yessir. He’s been hanging around for folks to see until you have the chance to come get him.

Just a word of warning, if Kelley is cooking (mmmmmm!) you’ll be lucky if you can hunt after eating! She makes wonderful Texas comfort food! One serving even at breakfast wasn’t enough! I think I gained weight on our hunt.

We still have dates December through February for this hunt.

Ok folks, January is getting busy with big game hunts as is November which is completely full. There is opening in December as well as pretty much all of February.

Please send me some more details on a 2 or 3 day hunt. Schedule, bird limit, price per person, etc. for 2 or 3 hunters.

Thank you,
