I may be able to get to Nairobi, Kenya in July and I'd like to try to get across to do a few days in Tanzania. I'm not sure if I have enough days as I understand there may be a minimum number of days. I'd also need to rent a rifle. If all this can work out I'd be interested in Kudu, Sable, warthog, and possibly Nyala. I'd even be interested in a cull hunt if that's available instead.

The way safaris are conducted in TZ is not conducive to what you describe.
East African Greater Kudu (and Lesser Kudu for that matter), and Roosevelt Sable are considered "top shelf" trophies, are usually of very limited quota, and it is very unlikely that a safari operator could offer them on a short hunt as might be arranged in South Africa, and definitely not offered in a cull hunt scenario. And I don't believe you will find any operator offering nyala in TZ.

Unfortunately, what you are proposing is just not possible in Tanzania. The government licenses and fee are expensive. For example, a lessor kudu requires a [emoji638][emoji637] day license premium. That’s an extra [emoji637][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]]k just to shoot one plus trophy fees.

You are describing a short South African hunt but saying Tanzania. Sable and kudu are only available on premium license and there are no Nyala. Tanzania is likely the most expensive country to hunt in Africa even for short hunts with relatively common species. As an example, looking at 2024 price list from a larger outfitter there for daily rates and licensing, they list $17000 for a 5 day limited PG hunt in massailand and $22000 for a 7 day buffalo and limited PG hunt in southern part of country. I’d look more into what you actually want, because I think the reality there is very different.

Thanks for all the insights. I guess I'll just be tourist since I cannot change the location or time frame.

Well you should be well covered for that! Tanzania is a great place to be a tourist as well as a hunter.

Go see the Great Migration! Or Killamanjaro. Or any of the great parks.

Lots of companies offering two or three day Serengeti and Crater tours from Arusha or JRO.

Or if you are in Nairobi go to the Mara. Plenty to see in Kenya as well. Depending on what part of july I will be there as well. Look me up and I can take you flying around the Mara.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
