Hi everyone,
I have a question around the legality of taking your own rifle to hunt in South Africa if you’re not going to be using an outfitter.
I assume that if you’re using an outfitter there would be some permits/forms that you’d need to fill out and that the outfitter would take care of or at least tell you what you need to do before you arrive.
I will be hunting on my relatives land and while I could just use his rifle, I’d much rather take my own, but I don’t know if that’s legal to do in the first place?
Let say I was going to stay for two weeks, one week of hunting and the other week we won’t be hunting would that be a problem?
I’d obviously put the rifle in his safe while I’m not hunting, so I wouldn’t be driving around with it all over the country.
I’m a dual citizen and will be travelling on my RSA passport, not sure if that matters ?
Thanks in advance
