I am going on a management hunt, with my girlfriend, and it might include zebra(s). My girlfriend really likes zebras, and as we might not be able to get our hands on the hides I was wondering if something else is commonly used as a zebra trohpy? I cant seem to find anything anywhere, was thinking of tales or hooves, or?

The tails alone aren’t that incredible. You can buy tanned zebra skins in the airport on your way home if you can’t keep the ones you shoot.

I have only seen what other members here have posted with tails, so can't help there.

For hooves/feet/ lower leg there are a number of things they can be used for:

Table lights
Coat/hat/gun racks
Walking stick/cane, cabinet door/drawer handles, interior door handles
Decorative pieces for book ends
Letter opener/ knife handles (scales)
Let your imagination run wild.

I would keep the skull. And as someone else said, carving them is a neat idea. Although it can get expensive, at least in the states. I am not sure what the price is in Africa. I saw some skulls come back from Africa at my taxidermist that were carved in Africa and they looked neat. Although some had broken in transport.

Maybe have the skull “bronzed”? Someone posted some pics awhile back with skulls they had bronzed and they were kinda cool. Even adding some different colors and patterns into the coating…..

I know this is not what you are asking and I feel wrong even saying but…

Just have have it tanned in an Africa and bring it back - you have to!
Zebra hide is so timeless and classic. You won’t regret it! And it will be yours! Memories and heirlooms for your family.

Even if you have no room for rug! Endless possibilities

Are you thinking that the owner will keep the hide and you won't be allowed to bring it back as a trophy?

On some cull and management hunts, it is my understanding, that clients' because of the reduced rates/ not trophy fee priced the "farmer" keeps the animal(s); ie. hides, horns, etc to make up their losses.

That's not saying a client can't get the hide, head, feet, tail, it's up to the arrangement between outfitter & farmer, outfitter & client, farmer & PH, or farmer & client, or any combinations there of.

When hunting on tribal land the whole animal belongs to the tribe. The trophy fee is basically the cost the client is paying to buy the hide, head, feet, tail.

Versus

When a client pays trophy fees the client is buying the animal. Unfortunately the US doesn't allow for import of bush meat/ wild game meat outside North America.

I kind of regret not getting the skull mount of the zebra stallion I killed. They have really well developed fangs that would have made a neat conversation piece.

I did turn the hide into a zebra tapestry. It's still the full hide with head and tail so I can do something different with it later but for now, I really like this...

I have heard some people surprised that anyone wants to keep the skull. I think they are cool and they are also huge compared to a lot of other animal skulls which makes them stand out in my opinion.
