Starting to get pretty fired up!

Good luck! Twenty pounder on a fly rod? HELLO! What color fly are you tying? Make up a yellow one. (y):)

Oh man! You guys are a rough crowd!

I’m in! There’s a nice scimitar I'm interested in!

I’m tying several colors from white/chartreuse to fire tiger and everything in between.

Never fished there, but I’d pick something big such as Clouser streamer patterns, Lefty Decievers and also some good size surface poppers. Nothing more fun than watching a good size aggressive fish hitting on the surface! Oh man am I getting jealous!

I have flyfished a lot out of my kayak for trout, bass and Florida inter coastal fish. What a hoot catching a good size fish on a fly! Salmon in AK is a hoot as well. I just can’t imagine a 20 lb peacock bass! This old man would probably have a heart attack!

You and your dad have an awesome trip! And please take lots of pictures and give us a report!

Sounds like heck of a lot of fun. Can't wait to read your report. Another trip I'd like to do...

Hey boys while Gizmo is gone I’ll be on the front porch, we can definitely play see it shoot it as y’all clear the gate lol After drinking with most of you I’d probably classify them as management hunts so not really sure what I could charge

Considering I don’t sleep anyway I have been tying some flies for peacocks in the nights here lately. I’ve tied a few flies spanning from established patterns to my own creations.
This one is my own creation and has a bunch of chartreuse in it just for @Hogpatrol whom I will name it after. It’s the “Hog Patrol”.

Good luck to you and your dad! I've caught peacocks in S. FL, and they are fun to catch. The ones in S. FL are not as big as their cousins from the Amazon. Catch the big one! (y)(y)

YOWZA! Now that's a peacock bass fly! Although not as big, caught a lot of them in Lake Gatun and they preferred a lead jig with yellow head and yellow tail hairs. Can't wait to see how this one performs in the Amazon.

As of today I am 4 weeks out from wheels up! Still tying flies, been practicing with my new fly outfit, and about to go get all my shots renewed next week!

You are a bold and brave man to tackle peacocks on s flyrod. I seen them destroy woodchoppers. Can’t imagine the flyrod set up to get one of the big ones to decide to change directions!

Well unfortunately we are cancelled :( One of our group is unable to make it due to family health issues and so we are all sidelined. Working on rescheduling the trip for next year but uncertain at this point. I’ve really been looking forward to the trip but things happen and it is what it is.

Very sorry to hear this and hope your friend’s family issue works out ok. I can imagine how disappointed you are.

Thank you, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit heart broke but the important things are family and health. Hopefully we’ll get rescheduled and it’ll all work out.

Sorry to hear this. But, maybe God’s plan has something else more important.
On the bright side: if you got updated shots for travel, you are probably ready to eat all the street food in Texas without fear!

Well, that sucks but you're right. Health is wealth and family comes first. Who knows? Maybe next year the weather and the fishing will both be better. Best of luck with the health issue.
