This decoy velcro mounts to the front of your bow. Weighs only ounces. Looks very similar to a Kudu cow to me. Anyone ever heard of this being tried?

I have seen it work on North American game but Africa might be whole different story. It could be worth a try. Thoughts?

I'm not sure disguising yourself as the thing people are hunting is something I would try! [emoji23]

There's the infamous turkey hunter story to learn from..... [emoji603]

Yes. I understand your point. It is valid. It comes with blaze orange also. Not fool proof but better than nothing. At Limcroma safaris, the rifle hunters and bow hunters were hunting different concessions. On my hunt I'm pretty certain that my PH and I were the only two on the concession we hunted.

I understand the risks involved. I want to know if this is a potentially effective tool.

Peaks my interest ! I've seen videos were they sneak up on pronghorn using a similar tactic .. tho I've never hunted them . . I'm trying Montana decoys on deer no success yet .. So why not Africa ? Good luck and play safe !

At least the decoy does not have horns!!

The Bushmen in the Kalahari use to use a stick with a knob on the top to imitate the neck and head of a ostrich. They would walk slowly crouched over and keeping the stick up. This they did when raiding ostrich nests for eggs before the ostrich pair starting sitting full time on the nest.

I have used a crude shield made from thatch grass and sticks in areas where there is no cover(open grass plains). This has enabled me to stalk species such as black wildebeest, springbuck and blesbuck with success. As long as you stay behind it and stop when they look up it works.

Never tried a decoy though.

I figure they would come running over to ask the Mule Deer what it was up to.

If you are on a bow concession that is all yours, why not.
It's not like it will take up too much room in your luggage.

I have always thought of trying a pronghorn one on springbucks. Thought it would be close enough to a match for them.

I hope somebody tries this and reports back. If nothing else an African animal might be curious!

I saw your post selling left hand rifles. Do you have any additional pics of the .416 Rem mag?
