There some awesome photos, John ( Gryphon) miss all your photos from the old deer hunting forum it was my sambar fix good see some of your pic again

Thanks for sharing, this is another species on the bucket list!

Very nice pictures John, I cant wait to get back to that side of the country and up in the hills again.

We certainly did and we have the stupidest firearms laws in the country, I am seriously thinking of buying a small place on your side of the country for my time off to get away from WA over winter, I love the beach and the fishing over the Summer months when it's too hot to hunt but there,s nothing to do in winter because we aren't allowed to hut on public land.
Seriously it is easier, and more enjoyable for me to either fly to South Africa or drive to Victoria and hunt for 10 days than it is to try and hunt in the West.
With my son now being over that way for the next few years it is certainly and even more viable proposition.

There are many places in the North East that are cheap as by comparison, close to the hunting of course.
I was down at the mates at Dartmouth driving about today counting the rubs on the road sides, the Dart is cheap and the heads are thick.

Anywhere out of town `donga an hour is so cheap compared to the big smoke.

I did notice how cheap things were compared to "donga" and all I would want would be a cottage on a small block with a bedroom or two, a kitchen and bathroom.
Dont worry I am looking at the real estate web sites every week and have seen some that would suit me perfectly.

Hi sambarhunter

I just took a couple of your pictures and changed the exposure to lighten them up.

Hope you like them.

I dont mind Tom and yes they are "better" I suppose in seeing the stag but they don`t reflect on the true light of the dark ferny bush gully that the deer is living in. Note the bright 'outside' in the background, that light is more open farm country 800 metres back downhill and in sunlight.

Good Morning x84958
I have read your post about Jamy Traut and your hunt in Caprivi. I am planning such a hunt for 2026, Oct with Jamy.
Just a question , because I will combine Caprivi and Panorama for PG, is the daily rate the same the week long, I mean the one for Caprivi or when in Panorama it will be a PG rate ?
thank you and congrats for your story.
Best regards
Philippe from France
