South Africa's Best Kept Secret

Looks great ernest

Allow me to introduce our South African concession.

The property is High fenced and comprises 24710 acres of broken Rocky outcrops, Mopani forests, Savanna bush-veld combined with lots of dry river beds and sand washes, very close to the Limpopo river and neighbouring Zimbabwe.

THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL SOUTH AFRICAN GAME FARM. !!!

This is a place where hunting is still hunting, you will work for your trophy. The hunting is real and we mostly obtain our game by means of tracking.
This region and in particular this property, has been close to my heart for more than 20 years. In the day when South Africa still received regular Leopard tags, this was my destination of choice and over the years I have guided about 10 successful leopard hunts here.
Today it is Spear Safaris base area and camp.
When the 24000 acres becomes a bit cramped for me, I have another 24 000 adjoining acres to hunt on, including the Limpopo river bank.
Species that occur on this area include. Cape buffalo, Greater Kudu, Zebra, Blue wildebeest, Impala, Waterbuck, Gemsbok, Eland, Nyala, Duiker, Steenbuck, Klipspringer, Tsessebe, Sable, Red hartebeest, Brown and spotted Hyena, Leopard.
Within an Hours drive I can also Hunt, Crocodile, Roan, Sharps Grysbuck, Red Duiker to mention a few.

To top all this, it is very affordable for the average Joe.

We do not mix groups, it will be you and your companions. We also do not do High turnover hunting, we believe in the sustainable off take program in order to maintain quality.

The Camp has a " Africa feel" yet still has all the amenities you want.

I add some photos taken in the area, terrain and some trophy's taken from this year.
We would love to share this Gem of an area with you, contact me for details and available dates. info@spearsafaris.com

It's a beauty of a place, and it has good, hard, honest hunting. We were there in late April of this year and got to hunt and sightsee on both of the +24,000-acre properties Ernest mentioned. (This after a hunt for cow buffalo in the Greater Kruger area.) It was a fine safari, and the new camp really is as pretty and as wild as the photos suggest. Highly recommended.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
