SOUTH AFRICA: Tootabi Hunting Safaris Hunting Trip

Even my wife, who doesn't hunt, said "if you see one that looks like that, shoot it" when she saw the picture.

I gotta stop looking at that Gemsbok...it will spoil me.

I want to be happy with whatever Africa gives me. Always tougher when you see a snorter like that!

Congratulations on a great hunt! And like Brickburn said, it's interesting to see the land green - I'm more used to brown and gray!

Great animals as well. Get's the juices flowing . . .

a thousand different shades of each

And just yesterday I dyed my khaki-ish hunting trousers brown. Might should have gone with green! :A Bonk:

Maybe by May 17 it will be more brown...Loodt says winter seems to be coming early.

The weather was beautiful when we were there. 75-80, sunny and green.

I am hoping for 50s to 60s during the second half of May....but as always, I take what comes!

great report and some great animals. Welcome to the tootabi hunting family it is a great one to be part of.

and no mention of the tootabi secret traditional brass pole?
that just makes an old sticky beak like me, more inquisitive !!!

I was kind of hesitant on giving him such a great review. I'd like to go back in a couple years but if he gets to be to popular, it will be tough to get a reservation. Price is likely to go up as well.... ;)

Greg...........nice report..........thanks........................getting to hunt with your dad and bro will never be forgotten. You have got some nice trophies, but the hunt itself was the real trophy. Your oryx is second to none........................FW Bill

Bluey, Greg did a nice job not speaking of Tootabi night. You must go to know!

The secret that has so many thinking about what it could be. No brass pole but a great night that is with special people.

Greg did you get to hunt with lammie? I see the big guy in the oryx picture and I can hear his voice and my hunt like it was just the other day.

I will admit, I don't know the secret, but I soon will. :)

as all , good secrets, it will only last as long as its, a secret....its already showing signs of the snow ball effect.....ha ha ha ha

:A Banana:Haha I know something you don't. LOL Plus it has even been made better since I was there.

ha ha ha just like the old school ground secrets.... those that do , those that dont , some of us will and the rest of them wont ......

Congrats on a great hunt. Some good looking animals. You'll go a while to get a better Gemsbuck. Good looking Bushbuck too. Your Impala looks better than average. Just a really nice bunch of animals especially for a first trip to Africa. Have you started planning the next trip? Bruce

Congratulations on the hunt and your animals.

Thanks for the report and photos.

Thank you for writing up such a fantastic report @Greg Bossert

We know how hard you all worked (but especially dad) on this hunt to get the animals and can only say that this success was in large part due to your all's, your commitment and perseverance. Positive attitudes carry you a long way.

It was beyond a pleasure to have you all in camp the past weeks and I can honestly say that I have NEVER seen a senior citizen carry himself so well in the African bush.

Now whilst writing this response up I cannot help thinking of this thoughts that Dennis Bossert Sr. left with me when he departed Africa, quoting Shannon L. Alder - "When you are joyful, when you say yes to life and have fun and project positivity all around you, you become a sun in the center of every constellation, and people want to be near you.”

It is ALWAYS a joy to have hunters like the Bossert's in camp.

We will meet again someday.

Hello, My wife and I hunted with Marius 2 years ago. He fit us into his schedule after a different outfitter "bailed" on us. He was always very good with communications and although we didn't end up meeting him personally, he called us multiple times during our hunt to make sure things were going well. We were very happy with him.

Reach out to the guys at Epic Outdoors.

They will steer you right for landowner tags and outfitters that have them.

I have held a membership with them for years and they are an invaluable resource.

Way better that asking random people on the internet...WAY better

Skydiver386,

Did you ever find your 30-06 CZ550? I own a fairly solid conditioned one, if you wanted to talk.
