Like Skobbie said the shot hit the bull right behind the ear. He obviously took a step forward as I pulled the trigger. But as I mentioned I have never been very good at leading an animal with a rifle. However the results speak for themselves.

The round went through that thick neck skin shattered the vertebrate, cut the spinal cord and lodged just in the skin on the other side. As I mentioned earlier the Ruger likes this Federal Premium Bear Claws.

He isn’t an old bull but he has a few battle scares. Now for the butchering!

Great story and pics. Congrats on getting the hippo and thanks for sharing.

Congratulations Charlie!!!!

Well done Charlie! Thanks for adding the detail as I enjoy this info as much as the harvest pictures. Good to see Skobee as well. I enjoyed meeting him in 2016.

Congrats on the hippo!!! Enjoying the story!

Great shot Charlie!

That Bear Claw really did the job!

What a relief it must have been when you saw him float to the surface...congratulations!

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]

Out of all the different color variations of Impala the black Impala just stands out with its beautiful pitch black hide.

Impala is one of the animals you will see all over Africa.
You can see them in herds of a 100 plus together.

This excellent ram was taken with one of our previous client this past season.
