I will be hunting in East London South Africa at the next of March beginning of April. Can anyone tell me what to expect temperature wise. I plan on taking enough hunting clothes for 4 day and just having laundry done while I’m there.
Thanks in advance

It will still be warm, but you’ll want to bring a light jacket for morning and a light rain coat. I’d plan to wear long pants for ticks and treat with permethrin. Might want to talk with your outfitter if you’ll be hunting any higher elevation areas that can affect temperatures.

AccuWeather.com you can search by city and see monthly forecasts projected and average daily temps. Lots of info.

Expect 60°'s to 80° in the daytime highs and 40's° to 60° overnight lows. Everything from calm to 30 miles per hour winds with gust up to 40 miles per hour. Heat, Sun, Cloudy, Rain, etc. Basically all the normal North America spring and fall weather in one day for several days.

Yeah...and the normal North American bugs on steroids. Permetherin is your friend.

Include in your packing include:

one, or two, pair of shorts,
one, or two, short sleeve shirts,
two, or three, pairs of long pants,
two, or three, long sleeve shirts
Dual purpose mid weight rain jacket for rain and warmth,
mid weight vest or sweater for warm

It's the old adage:

" better to have and not need, than to need and not have." TIA expect the unexpected.

I hunted just South of there in April and had a fire in in the little heater stove at night. And got miserably hot mid day.

You don't need 4 days worth of clothes, two is enough. In 10 huntsvin Africa I'venever had them not at least try to do laundry every day. In Zimbabwe there was 4 days of rain in November where they couldn't get clothes dry...

I'll second taking a jacket for early mornings, a light rain coat that can fit over the jacket and double as a windbreaker. Two pairs of long pants. Treat everything except your underwear with permethrin. Don't forget to treat your hunting boots. And take some deet with. Leave the extra with your PH when you go home;)

one set of clothes on, another in the laundry and another in reserve. what i do is wear one set on the plane going over and one set in my carry on bag and one set in my suit case. I also a lot of times is to take a few extra socks and shirts and give to the trackers and skinners they need them more than I do, I also leave my light jacket there also.

When I book a hunt I ask my guide what is the nearest town to where I am hunting to look for temps for an upcoming hunt.

You can get a pretty good idea of looking online now for your hunt next March/April time line, but a week or so ahead of going I'd check local temps to be sure you are packed correctly.
