I could not post pics from my phone while I was in South Africa. Here is a pic from my 7 day hunt. 55 7/8 kudu. I will do a full report when we finally get settled in and caught up. Fabulous time!

Beautiful Kudu. Now, get busy with the report will ya, you know how patient we are. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Congrats on that bull mate, waiting for the full report.

A proper bull there!

Philip runs a top notch camp. I hunted with him in 2019. Looking forward to the full report!

I was checking the sight to if there was any mention of Phillip here. It was good meeting you at Philip's camp this year, and if you are ever in NE Texas, drop by for dinner with Dana and I. We are scheduling the next hunt with Phillip in May 2024 for Buff. Here is my Kudu from that same hunt when you were in camp. Not as good as yours, but 53" left and 54" right suits me.

It was nice meeting you and Dana also. That’s a nice kudu, and you had a good eland down before we left. I can’t say enough good things about Phillip and his crew.

You guys are killing me!! August 2025 can’t get here soon enough!
Perfect time to go if you live in the southern states. Avoiding the 100 degree days her in Texas in July and August makes Africa feel more like heaven than it is already. Good luck and keep us posted. Who is your outfitter?

Phillip Bronkhorst is my outfitter as well.
This is a trip my wife booked, more of a trip for my daughter and son-in-law to hopefully hook them on Africa as she and I are.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR MY RIFLE, ALWAYS APPROACH A NEW LOAD CAUTIOUSLY!!*
Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
