SOUTH AFRICA: Motshwere Safaris In Limpopo

We also shot animals that were not in our package and new that they would cost above and beyond the package price.

That's what we figured, too, when we arrived. It's what we were led to believe after arrival that ended up causing problems later.

And, as I said in my original post, everything was awesome until we figured out he had been effectively deceived.
Werner was funny, personable, engaging. His wife is wonderful. The staff was awesome. But, my opinion of Werner has changed. I now see him as a combination snake oil/used car salesman.

Bob, I'm glad you and Gary had an enjoyable trip. Hope your post-hunt doesn't turn out like mine.

Sorry....
"we had effectively been deceived" not "he had effectively been deceived."

dont get me wrong werner did a awesome hunt for us . food lodging and animals were awesome . it was just very frustrating when he said every morning shoot and we will figure things out later. when i booked the hunt i was told i would be able to shoot baboon as a bonus no problem he said, well after i shot the second one he was very mad and said he was going to charge me double becuase i was shooting the less expensive animals . should have asked more questions and also had werner answer more questions .

Sivie, sounds like someone is only in it for the money.

It is always interesting when you read a less than steller report and then within 1-2 days there are brand new members that pop up and give glowing reports on the same outfitter as the negative report. This actually caused me to do a search here to see if there was anything historical on Motshwere. Looks like there is a little bit. The first one was posted earlier today as a matter of fact.

Robert,

Welcome to the forum! I hope you'll write your own detailed report about your experience and posit here. Please share picture from your trip as well. Was this your first trip, or have you gone before?
Mine is the first report you listed, I am so pumped about my first trip to Africa. I just got home a week ago. I have posted a few pics and will post some more. I will be looking for some advice from you guys as to which big bore to build for my next trip, I definitely have the SA bug and can't wait to get back! Cape buffalo is going down next :)

It is interesting how that happens Royal. Especially since there is another positive report today. AH has been around for apx 7 years and zero good hunting reports regarding Motshwere (that I can find with a cursory glance). Now basically three positive reports since this thread started.

Wonder if any posters have the same URL? o_O Or are in close proximity to each other. Makes you wonder how long these "new members" will hang around.:)

Freedom of speech, Wheels. I can tell you my friend is very honest. We have gone elk hunting. There are few people I trust to hunt with me and he is one of them.

I am here for good, I just got turned onto the site when I got home. I wish I would have know about it before I left.
Just got back like I said in my post, I loved my Africa trip and will be looking for advice on a return trip.
I traveled to Mexico this last January and posted on a couple of sites about that trip. I had a great hunt there also, and had never posted on those sites before.

If you have questions about me or my post message me. I'm hooked and can't wait to get back to SA!

grsep,

Welcome to AH. Glad you enjoy the site.

My post was not meant to be an insult, just an observation.

Look forward to getting to know you better.

All the best.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris
