Day6
In the morning I got a nice warthog. During the afternoon I got to enjoy an incredible sight…a black impala fighting a brown one! The black one ran the brown one off showing his dominance…I just had to have a chance at him!
Patience was the name of the game as he took a drink at the water hole I was hunting. I finally got him in my sights and was thrilled to take such a beautiful animal!!!
Day7
What an incredible day! This was the day we went after Nyala. We traveled the dirt roads until we spotted one in the thick bush with 3 does…he was a beauty! We started our stalk through the bush until we came to a wide clearing with a steep drop off into a dry creek. My PH Brandon looks at me and says “we are going to remove our shoes and make our final stalk in the creek bed…talk about exciting!!! We go about 75 yards when we finally are able to get on him for a shot. My first shot hits him a little back and he takes off. My second shot takes off his left horn!!! Finally we track him to a thorn thicket where I finish him and he is mine!!! So grateful Bullseye Taxidermy can fix this as we found the horn
Day8
We had seen such beautiful Golden Wildebeest that I just had to have one! In the morning went to get my COVID test which was so easy then back to a waterhole. First saw an unbelievable mature Cape Buffalo come out!!! Then a group of black wildebeest follow him. Finally a beautiful very old golden wildebeest came out. I was able to drop him in his tracks…what a gorgeous animal with his teeth worn to the gum line!
In closing the new 450-400 DR exceeded my high expectations and the Tsala family gets my highest recommendation and then some!!!
