Thanks for sharing the family experience with us.
Looks like everyone got almost everything they wanted.

Thanks for the fine report. made for great reading. the pics are very nice. this sets the bar pretty high for your next trip. The kids looked like they had a great trip. Well done. Bruce

Great hunt and report. Really enjoyed the different installments. You will have to string us along for the taxidermy as well.

Will do but I'm afraid it's going to take a little while on the taxidermy.

I know about that.....I have received my crate from Northern Cape in January......trophies still into the crate......now after seven month I am getting ready the money to star the taxidermy work.......and I am saying just the start........

The tannery called me to say they received my crate from last year and will begin the tanning of my hides and then ship to my taxidermist when done.
skulls/horns, backskins that were tanned in SA, and my curios, etc should be here in about a week. Will enjoy seeing them again.
My taxidermist is hoping the hides are in good shape, specifically my wife's caracal. He has special plans for that.

enjoyed the hunt report.
blessings.

That's awesome, make sure you post pics when they're finished.

Well I'm hoping to get to go back to Africa in 2017 or 18. In the meantime the wife and I will be heading to Romania for some Roe deer and touring next June.

Again, great report! Have fun planning for the next one. You will love the history and culture in Romania. Thanks again for sharing .

R.

Erik, how long before your trophies arrive back here? They give you any idea?

Probably around Jan I think. Then off to Denis they go.

Hope they make it out before they close for the Christmas holidays.... One month nothing happens there...

What a wonderful report Erik. I felt like I was right there with you at times. Having a memorable first safari is great, expierencing it with your family..... Priceless!!

Thank you sir, it was a wonderful trip and we will remember it for all our days.

Is Dennis going to do a full body mount on the lion?
I had mine sent to Micheal at Coppersmith and he did a great job of keeping track and forwarding them to Dennis.
Can't wait to see you or Dennis putting pictures on AH:)

Yes it will be a full body mount and I will most definitely post pics. I have used SSI for the import and they have done a wonderful job thus far. All the other trophies will be on shoulder mounts and we saved the backsides as well. I also plan on having book ends made of the zebra feet.

Hey guys, I posted the wrong set of # for the lot#'s on the ammo. I found this out through Andri's conversations with Jason Hornady. Sooo, for the dgs lot# is 3140999 and the dgx is 3142498. Hope this helps folks in the future.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
