Congratulations on a great hunt, experience and excellent report!!! Almost 10 years ago @375 Ruger Fan put me on G4A for my very first safari and I have never looked back! They truly are a tremendous family and you said it beautifully when you said whether it was a first or 100th hunt they are tremendous to hunt with!!!

Wonderful report and some great animals taken. Wik sent me a picture of your Buffalo, and he believes it is the one we chased on day one. :ROFLMAO: You lucky dog, I wanted to take that Impala, but it was my friend Gary turn to hunt. Congrats beautiful ram.

Glad everything worked out for you and your friends, and glad to hear everyone had a wonderful time.

I'm glad Wik and Don took my suggestion to heart about taking pictures with the G4A sign and the skulls of the animals taken. Beautiful picture.

BTW, how do you like Wik saying, "Let's go for a walk"? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

When is the next trip back?

Thank you for taking us along.

Every morning I take a look at G4A Facebook page, I can stay on it for a few minutes until I’m blocked as I don’t have a an account. This morning they had a video of a tracker and Rocky sneaking up on a wounded kudu. It’s amazing how stealthy an African tracker can be even if the animal is distracted by a dog.

I forgot to add in this write up Wik's message to you about the buffalo (I posted in on your report): since @PHDon couldn't get you on the bull, I must have had the better PH! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I didnt know you had the same suggestion for skulls picture at G4A sign. And here I was thinking I'd given them a new idea.

I've developed a Love/Hate relationship with the phrase "Let's go for a walk." That terrain can be no joke, but it usually resulted in a good story or a downed animal.

Eric is leading the return trip charge, not that he has to do much to convince me its a good idea. We are targeting 2027, but will see what life has to say about that.

I have that video and was watching it live through binoculars while Wik was smarter and rolled camera. It was taken in the extended story chase of Eric's Kudu.

That tracker is laying flat out and crawling around the bush trying to get Rocky away so we could take a follow up shot.

He did say that on the WhatsApp message he sent me. :ROFLMAO:

We didn't take the pictures because the Taxidermist was there mid hunt to pick up stuff, and I was disappointed. So, I reemphasize to Wik to make it a point to take the pictures with the sign. I however, suggested putting a new sign over the container by the cleaning shed to make it easy for taking the pictures.

I told Wik, he needs to incorporate "Let's go for a walk" somewhere with the sign or his FB. I know the feeling brother; I know the feeling. :ROFLMAO:

That's funny, my friend Gary is already working to get a group back in 2027 too. So, let's see who hunts first this time. (y)

Check your PM.

Congrats and thanks for sharing!

Tbitty, congratulations to you and all of your party on a great Safari. How were the temperatures on the Eastern Cape this year? I was in Free State a couple of weeks ahead of you for four days before we relocated to our main objective in Limpopo and it was surprisingly cold most of the mornings (below freezing), good bit warmer in Limpopo. Just wondering if it was colder on the cape or do the Indian Ocean currents moderate the weather? I have two friends who plan to hunt there next year.

It is daunting to be stalking buffalo in the thick stuff and be so close you can hear them and even smell them and still not see them, am I right? Well done on bagging your Kudu so quickly. He looks like a really good one. I had to hunt hard for three straight days before I had a clean shot on one.

Great hunt report and super photos. I need to get busy and post my own report soon. Well done Sir!

It varied a bit, but was generally about 35-40F in the morning and up to 65-70F in the afternoons. I think we did get 1 morning below freezing, and a couple days closer to 75-80F for high temp.

That's near Grahamstown. Their north camp, which we did not end up visiting, was bout 10-15 degrees F colder each day.

We had very pleasant weather during our stay. Cool (high 30s to low 40s in the AM), and the temps would warm nicely in the afternoon. Once exception was Reedsdale, the wind there blew 30-40 mph, which made for a miserable day.
