SOUTH AFRICA: Cape Buffalo Cow Hunt With GAME 4 AFRICA SAFARIS - Apr 2024

Awesome report, thanks for sharing, that was exciting!

I’m just back from hunting with G4H and working on my report now. Nothing as exciting as buff hunting but a typical first African Safari of plains game. Wik and all have a wonderful operation and beautiful properties.

As to bullet weight, for buff I’ll be using 300 gr Swift A frames in my 375 H&H. This trip since I was hunting PG I went with 260 gr Nosler Accubonds thinking I’d have some longer shots and they performed great. I’ll post pics in my report of the bullets recovered from the Eland and Blue Wildebeest. I brought both the 375 and a 7 mag (with 160 gr Swift A frames).

Actually, will post one here too as practice for including pics in my report.

HI Katy,
Thank you, it was an exciting hunt for sure.
Sounds like you had a great PG Hunt, which I very much enjoy too.
Look forward to reading about your hunt. Yes I think the 300g in the 375 is the safe way to go.
Yes its a great tompractise posting photos as they dont always load :)
G4H is a great place for a hunt!

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
