SOUTH AFRICA: BOWHUNT: Limcroma Safaris August 2017

Great hunt, beautiful trophies. Forrest

Congrats, great bowhunting trophies!

Next was the Zebra. There was a group of 3 that took forever to finally come in. She was quartering away at 23 yards and I had my pin right next to the triangle in the crease. As I was squeezing the trigger, she started to turn away and at the sound of the shot she jumped the string a little too. The arrow lodged on the inside of the shoulder blade parallel to the ribs. We chased her for two days with a rifle and could never get a look at her left side where the wound was so we never could make a positive i.d. She showed no sign of injury either. These animals are TOUGH! Finally about 45 minutes before dark we had her at 75 yards broadside and I finished it. Not the way I wanted it to go but I am thankful to have it done. The trackers were amazing to say the least. One spotted a drop of blood from the back of a moving truck and that put us on her trail in the beginning

. Without him we probably couldn't have sealed the deal.

Our final animal was the Red Hartebeest. He was an old solitary bull. We came upon him after several spot and stalk attempts on pairs that didn't pan out. We got close but no cigar. I'm thankful for so many awesome animals an even more awesome memories.

Thanks for sharing your hunt.
Every good one has it's ups and down's.

Great report! Beautiful photos, cool video, and awesome trophy animals! Congratulations on a great safari. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

First let me start by stating that the Limcroma operation is a well oiled machine. No detail was left unattended to. From being picked up and dropped off in Joberg at the airport by an armed escort to the AMAZING food. The staff are so attentive and proud of the service they provide. Dan Leahy provided timely answers and guidance in planning and executing this trip!

Our PH was Hardus. The newest of all the PHs, he is very methodical and patient. VERY professional. He made sure we were taking mature animals of great quality.

RSTK,

It was my sincere pleasure to have worked with you in your safari planning. I take great pride in trying to be as informative as possible in preparing guests for their safari. I am glad to have helped in any way... My reward is when folks like you return with a report such as this!

Congrats on some truly impressive trophies! The consistent maturity and quality of the animals taken at Limcroma never ceases to amaze me. Your animals are no exception.... Although relatively new to Limcroma (2 & 1/2 years) Hardus is one of our most diligent and dedicated PHs. He works very hard to exceed the trophy expectations of our guests. I'm very pleased that you had a great hunt with him. Thanks again for sharing your experience. Please let me know if you have any questions in getting your trophies home. With us, the safari doesn't end until your trophies are at your door.

Congrats on your hunt. It was a pleasure sharing camp with you!
