Last July I took my first trip to africa where I hunted the limpopo with Doornrand Hunting safaris. Accommodations are A+ trophy and animal quality are A+ and PH was on point! Total I was in country 11 days and hunted 10 full days. All total I took a warthog, Waterbuck 30 inch, 2 impala each over 23 inches, nyala 28 inches, eland 35 inch, steinbuck 3 1/2 inch, porcupine, and gemsbok bull 36 inch.

I haven't mentioned weather, and it was unseasonably chilly during my trip, low 20s at night and warmed up to low 70s during the day. Made night hunting a challenge but we still managed. My favorite animals were the eland, this guy waited until right before dark to show up and presented no shot for about an hour before turning at 40 yards broadside nearly pitch black. Of course impala were a blast, both were taken under 30 yards and finally the steinbuck! I night hunted for him and took him with my bow at 25 yards! Much more difficult than I could have imagined. I can't wait to get back! The folks a Doornrand were very respectable and everyone was so helpful I really with them the best!

Sure thing. I used a bear arena 30 at 70 lbs with a 30 inch draw length. With a black eagle deep impact micro diameter 520 grain arrow. I use the 3 blade trophy ridge ultimate steel 100 grain broadheads. I never put the bow through a chrono.

Had a complete pass through on everything except the eland and waterbuck, both were qaurtering away and the arrow lodged in the opposite shoulder. The first impala I hit head on and it entered the chest out the shoulder and glanced off the hind leg. I was lucky and didn't have an animal go beyond 100 yards. The eland dropped in 40 and the gemsbok went the furthest at about 80 or 90. My nyala was at 15 yards it passed through so fast he didmt even run, just kept eating! The arrow skipped accross the water hole ans buried 40 yards away in a tree!

The first pic you can see the arrow poking against the skin of the eland on a 40 yard qaurtering away shot. Next is the eland heart and finally the impala I skewered. I'll try to post the video next.

Hello, My wife and I hunted with Marius 2 years ago. He fit us into his schedule after a different outfitter "bailed" on us. He was always very good with communications and although we didn't end up meeting him personally, he called us multiple times during our hunt to make sure things were going well. We were very happy with him.

Reach out to the guys at Epic Outdoors.

They will steer you right for landowner tags and outfitters that have them.

I have held a membership with them for years and they are an invaluable resource.

Way better that asking random people on the internet...WAY better

Skydiver386,

Did you ever find your 30-06 CZ550? I own a fairly solid conditioned one, if you wanted to talk.
