Good stuff there, great looking animals! Congrats on a great trip! What was your fave in the culinary dept?
Gemsbok fillets on the grill...scalloped taters, and green beans...didn't have a bad meal. Lost 4lbs, but that was from walking...not from not eating...oh yeah a few castle lights...Good stuff there, great looking animals! Congrats on a great trip! What was your fave in the culinary dept?
Gemsbok and kudu were 200yds, impalas were about 125yds, warthog was about 40yds...Wow Great animals !!!! I hope my first time luck will be as good.
What was the average length of your shots?
I agree..the warthog had missing petals. Gemsbok bullet is pictured and kudu, impala, and blesbuk bullets went completely through..they were running about 2800fps, so I guess they should. My reloader expert put together a accurate and deadly combo...(my dad). The recovered bullet did exactly what it should have done. Great hunting!
Thanks, sir. I was beyond happy with all of it.. Barefoot Safaris was an excellent PHRelyt..................you really did get some great trophies.............Heavy oryx with great corrugations on the bases, blesbok from Hell, and an awesome hog. I have hunted 13 properties during 6 trips to Africa to get a warthog like that, and have not done it .............yet.............your shot placement looks to be pretty darn good from the photos..........well done...........................FWB

Tay50, looks like you had just as much fun as I did. You got some great trophies. I am planning on going back in 2017. It was a hard, but enjoyable in every way.Rely,
Like you too I just got back from my first safari, and yes Africa hunting is much tougher than expected. Although there are many opportunities at different game it's still difficult to get into position to harvest a particular animal, some of my friends are amazed at the bush not how they pictured Africa. Sounds like you are hooked on Africa now just as I am, actually had a pictured party last night, of friends who just finished their New Zealand, trip along with two of us who hunted Africa. The party end up in us planning a hunt back to Africa, so it looks like about 8 0r 9 of us are heading back in 2016. Don't know if you read my hunting report, titled my first African safari with KMG Safaris, checkout the pictures to compare our fine trophies.
