Well, we've done firearms and calibers............so, what companies do you dislike, for whatever reason. I have three (at the moment)

Remington: I've never seen a company that loves to take something good (or in some instances, great), and turn around and cheapen it to the point where it is worth it...........welcome to Remington arms. For the record, I have several older Remington firearms that I cherish hunting with, but the stuff they are putting out now.........it's pure crap!! Plastic parts which were formerly metal, the break easily and replacement parts that are way too expensive for what they cost to make............it's almost as if it were planned. No thanks; newer Remington firearms will never find a place in my gun cabinet. They also have decided to quit supplying reloading components, which has left me in a bit of a lurch. Guess this is what happens when a good "family" business gets bought by a "conglomerate".

Hodgdon Powder company: Hodgdon powder company bought the Winchester powder line and the DuPont powder line.........then promptly discontinued many of the offerings (as well as some of their own) without having ready substitutes or data. Then they made the "big announcement" of "new" powders, which they promptly discontinued after about 5 years (once people had bought the stuff and worked up loads for it). When they came out with their "new" data book, I bought it, thinking that there would be new loads for the new powders. what did I find? Data listing all the old powders which they discontinued over 20 or so years ago! don't bother to complain; they do not reply. In addition, the powders that they supposedly do still manufacture have been off the shelves for years!!! They really do not know how to treat the people that are their "bread and butter", nor do they care. I guess military contracts are worth more than sportsmen and women.

Alliant Powder company: This is the company that I hate the most! I hope it goes belly up and its CEO and board members rot in hell! Last year, Alliant decided it would no longer sell to the general public. It wasn't really a surprise, as just about ANY Alliant powder was impossible to find! I started reloading shotgun shells using green dot, red dot, Herco, Unique, and blue dot. When I started shooting handguns, I added 2400, and when they came out with STEEL, I started reloading steel shotshells and hevi shot in earnest. When they brought back their rifle powders, I started using reloader 7 and Reloader 19......now to find that all the money I spent on working up loads using these powders is now useless and obsolete! I'm glad I loaded up a TON of steel shotshells, because STEEL was the ONLY powder that gave good performance in a nontoxic handload.........and now I'm left in a lurch if I wish to load any more.
Oh, and don't bother to try and contact them............as with Hodgdon, they don't give a damn about your opinions or concerns............its just crickets!

So how abought it..............now is you time to vent!!! What companies do you hate?

Remington - gone bankrupt x3 in my lifetime - too many discouraged or disgruntled employees not doing fine work, beancounters cheapening products for me

Winchester - During WWII they refused to switch to new/improved parts for the Garand until they had exhausted their old/inferior stock of parts, putting profit ahead of Soldier's lives on the battlefield. Now they have an overpriced mystic/reputation. Oh yeah, and don't forget the ruination of their rifle.

Scarbrough - 1,000% dissatisfied with their "efforts" to import my trophies from RSA.

I love my Ruger Alaskan, however, I bought an AR-10 from them. Went to buy spare parts (AR-10s are notoriously proprietary, so securing parts from the manufacturer made sense to me). They would sell me a buffer spring, and a complete bolt only - for $300!!!! That AR-10 went back to the gun shop!

BlackRock. Led by Larry Fink, this entity does more to drive far left anti-American ideology into corporations than any other. The damage they have done is incredible.

I don't really have any gun companies that I dislike really.

There's a few that are painfully 'tacticool' and very much not in my sphere of interest, but if they make others happy, then not my business.

Remington I have a certain distrust for, but I held my nose and bought one of their Marlin 1894 models a few years ago and honestly, it was pretty good. Acceptable fit 'n' finish for the price I paid, obviously nothing special, but can't complain. Maybe I got lucky, maybe they're just one of those companies that the gun community loves to hate, but my single personal experience with them was pretty good. The 700 series though, those I do think are kinda crappy.

Outside of firearms, a few spring to mind.

Stellantis. I loved my Hellcat and I was fully willing to put up with poor quality, poor materials, poor fit and finish for that engine and that soundtrack. Now though, why do they exist? Who on earth is going to buy a crappily built car if it doesn't have anything that makes it 'special'? It makes me so sad to see what they've done to the Dodge brand and my gut feeling is that it's not going to be long for this world.

Rolex. Great products, scummy company. I've moaned extensively on this topic before, so I shall not do so again.

Nike, Costco…at the moment but the list has grown to a point I cannot remember them all. Bud Light, NFL, NBA….got to stop before I go on real rant… NASCAR….

USAID. Also Bank of America, which has become firearm unfriendly as I understand it. Dick's Sporting Goods became a dick a few years back with regard to outdoorsmen.

Oh - well, if we are opening up to non-firearm companies!

Target - gay agenda
Carhart - forced jab
Hornady - forgot from earlier - lied about supporting .375 Ruger, forced jab
NFL - gave money to BLM which is run by communists
TSA - sheeple trainers for no increase in security

Christensen Arms....Rifles very notorious for poor accuracy and Customer Service Sucks...
Hornady for wrong velocities on factory ammo..... by a lot! No support for 375 Ruger reloading.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.
