So exciting! I just received this Amazon review from an Anti-hunter!

Madame, you have only been on this group for less than two months. And yet you never cease to amaze. Keep up the good work.
Ahh, thanks so much! That is so sweet of you to say. Getting a few minds to change and reading reviews like this make all the hard work worth it! By the way, pardon the late response. I was on vacation with the grandkids and they kept me hopping! Now I need a vacation from my vacation. I just hope I get to take them to Africa someday. We took them to the Safari Park in San Diego but what a disappointment!

Good work Sue! I’m currently through your discussion of hyenas while at the Chui camp, great read so far (y)
Awesome! Those poor critters get such a bad rap! They are simply fascinating animals and GEEZ, the thoughts of an Africa without their chilling serenades would be heartbreaking. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the book when you are totally done.

PS. Sorry for the delayed response. We took the grandkids to San Diego's safari park. It is the best we can do for now as far as getting them to Africa. BUT, WOW, what a disappointment after the real thing.

Please, Sue, don't stop at one book. you obviously have so much more to give, just don't run yourself ragged doing this. I'll arrange a purchase as soon as I get my backside in gear. Sincerely,
Geoff

Wow @geoff rath, you are so sweet. It's funny that you say not to run myself ragged. That is my goal for 2023....to put balance back in my life. I can't tell you the adventures I have missed because of my focus on Cries of the Savanna and its important message. I have learned from my new social media writer friends that I do NOT fit the author stereotype. Most of them live to write....while I'd rather be out DOING! Still, I plan to start a second book by the end of the month. It will be about Rick's buffalo hunt in Namibia. I will probably use the same format...incorporate conservation into the adventure etc. However, I did promise Rick that I would do it with BALANCE! By the way, once you get your "backside in gear" and read Cries of the Savanna, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Thank you, M'Lady Sue. Firstly, I am not SWEET;
weird, crazy, goofy, and a flirtatious old bloke ...

Good work. The facts are so compelling they truly cant be argued, the trick is getting people to read the facts.
Exactly @mikecatt13 ! That is why I tried to get them engrossed in the adventure FIRST…and then kind of sneak them in

weird crazy goofy even flirtatious old bloke is all good too!

THIS is WHY I wrote Cries of the Savanna! While I am thrilled that hunters like the book, my entire goal was to take non-hunters and/or anti-hunters on a grand adventure that would expose them to the truth of conservation in Africa. I can’t tell you how rewarding it is to learn that the book has changed a person’s mind on safari hunting!
Fortunately, the book is doing what I intended…..that is…..once I get it into their hands. That is the tough part. Many of these people aren’t interested in reading the book once they see that hunting is a big part of it. That’s why books clubs and recommendations from others is SO IMPORTANT.View attachment 510695
Hi Sue,
I am sitting in South Africa at the moment and heading back to Zimbabwe later today.

I have finished the first 49% of your book. So far I have enjoyed I should have the book finished in the next few days.

cheers, Lon

Safe travels Lon. I’m glad you are enjoying the book so far!

Sue, full marks on a top job. To turn one green outlook will roll into more.

Congratulations maybe more uninformed individuals will learn something

Thank you so much @Rule 303 That is my hope too….that people will tell others and share what they have learned….or at least stand up for Africa and hunting when they hear others talking about it negatively.

Sue, received the book on jan 15 and finished the 16th. WOW. You have written a masterpiece. It someone reads its and still believes that hunting is not conservation is either brain dead or have their head so far up their rear end they can watch their own heart beat. I have been to S Africa to hunt and then into Zimbabwe to tour twice, and to see what the people live through daily, makes you realize that the anti hunter group need to spend a week in wild Africa, not a game park, an live with the native and see how fast their minds change. Can't wait to read your next book. Hope to see you in Nashville.

First of all @randallhebert, WOW, you are a fast reader! I can't believe you finished the book in two days. Secondly, you have me all teary-eyed. Thank you for saying such wonderful things about the book. And, yes, I agree with you (not the Masterpiece part. LOL!) but the part about people must be brain dead if they don't "get it" after learning the reality of Africa. I'm not great at hiding my feelings so when someone still argues against hunting after reading the book, I just look at them in dumbfounded amazement. Fortunately, that has only happened once or twice. Most people DO GET IT if they read the book with an open mind. Thats why I am working so hard to get as many people to read it as possible...but its hard to get non-hunters to pick up the book unless it is suggested to them or required for a book club or something.

Anyway, may I ask you a favor? Would you mind leaving a review on Amazon. They are critical for relevance and algorithms....and help get the book in front of more people. It doesn't have to be long and involved. Even a few words and/or a star rating is wonderful. I'll include a link to take you to the review site in case you want to do that. You might want to leave off the part about anti's being "brain dead or have their head up their rear." LOL. That might not fly well on Amazon! BUT, I agree wholeheartedly and love your way with words! And YES, I hope to see you in Nashville as well.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
