Snake Bite - WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT

OMG!!!! This is gruesome!

ha ha ha no mate I meant the reptile not your friend

Actually it is a Snouted Cobra.

The snouted cobra is a relatively large species. Adult specimens average between 1.2 and 1.8 metres (3.9 and 5.9 ft) in length, but they may reach lengths of 2.5 metres (8.2 ft). Colouration of dorsal scales may vary from yellowish to greyish-brown, dark brown or blue-black. Ventral scale colouration is yellow with darker mottles. A banded phase occurs throughout the species' range and is blue-black with 7-11 yellow to yellow-brown cross bars, the lighter bands being half the width of the darker bands.

thanks mike
and it can flatten it s head out (hooded) like the rest of the cobra specie .

Those are some graphic pics! An excellent reason to get Global Rescue!

Was this during your stay in Africa? very impressive size of snake

On my recent Buffalo Hunt in Limpopo, on the first day, around 4:30 as we where tracking the Buffalo. The apprentice PH yells snake. As I'm from Northern Alberta I haven't seen a snake in 15 years. I just stand there and say neat. My PH yells shoot it,shoot it, turns out to be a Snooted Cobra about 6 feet long. I guess I have a lot to learn about snakes.

good night kitty....

Hi Guys
I never had to much of a problem with snakes in fact in fact I have always been one of those "strange" people who grew up catching snakes in Africa.
The Black mamba is bad news and he "knows" it.
Puff adder is fat and in no hurry to get out of the way and a bite from him . Well you have seen the results above.
They do say that the one that has hurt you the most is the one you pay closest attention to..................
As a young lad I got hit in the eyes (my fault I was trying to catch him ) by a spitting Cobra I can not describe the pain to you.
Suffice it to say I was unable to take my hands away from my eyes. My friends pinned me to the ground and washed out my eyes with Urine using only the equipment God gives to all men. Possabley the best thing to do in the circumstances before taking me for medical care.
However I got to do some Gargeling as well................... and they tell me I have enemies as well mmmmm.
The whole point of the above diatribe is keep a look out for snakes but dont be to concerned about them
Have fun guys
Be safe
Russel

In my mind snakes are the living incarnation of evil. Give them a wide path or better yet kill them!

Venomous Serpents and Politicians are the enemies of humanity.
Rust and Politicians are the enemies of firearms.

Hi Velo dog.
With all due respect please please dont insult snakes by including them in the same sentence as politicians.
A snake is at least honest and is not in the least bit slimy
Keep safe
Russel

I would love to hunt Africa, but I am afraid of snakes, just watched a YouTube on the Gaboon Viper ,it wasn't pretty
