MB verry exciting hunt.... Totally different experience. We Had a great night....Great offer. I have booked a hunt like this for July 2020 with an AH outfitter. You are exciting me, only 1 year to wait. Its torture.

Hi.I think you made a good desission on using your 375, on bushpig is is fine and that was the only weapon you had.
I personally use a 7x57 or a. 243 for most of the small cats including Bushpig. Both guns got silencers on and clients love shooting with them.
I recommend a smaller calebre for accuracy at night you have one shot at a critter if you miss that animal will most of the time not return to the bait.
Hope this answer your question.
Regards
Thanks so much for your help. So I am assuming the outfitters 243 was loaded down to sub sonic to silence?Stephen, I used the outfitter’s .243 with a silencer and we had great success on the night hunts. They use soft bullets and there was not a problem with pelt damage. The loads were factory ammo, not reduced loads.
I have used reduced loads in a 30/06 with solids in Africa too! They were super accurate and again damage to the animal was minimal.
I take that back I used a .223 with a silencer. We used PMP ammo. Not that you couldn’t use .243 Win loaded down. The ammo was a soft bullet not a full metal jacket. We used a over/under shotgun for the genet cats. Thanks so much for your help. So I am assuming the outfitters 243 was loaded down to sub sonic to silence?

Hi.
In regards to loads for the 7 x 57 and the 375 are solids the better option and if so do you load down for slower velocities for night critters?
Thanks Stephen
Your a lucky guy. I have same type hunt for July 2020. Looking forward to your report?Well, with great insight from enysse on his past hunt, and superb followup from Dawie, even while in the field, I pulled the trigger on this hunt and I am heading over in late Aug thru early Sept next month.
I am thrilled to be heading back to Africa this year as I was not sure I could handle waiting another 12 months. I have not night hunted, and only seen some of these critters during the day by chance, or when taken by another hunter. I hope that like turkey hunting in the states, snoring attracts game because this hunt will test my fortitude and CPAP certified snoring volume!!! LOL I will certainly be doing a report, and if not too computer challenged, maybe some real-time updates like I loved seeing from johhnyblues leopard hunt.
