I haven't yet - that was from the description from the seller's shop - I just got it a week or so ago so I have some work to do to confirm everything. I'll keep you posted. I did get the ledger for it. It is SN 16483 and the ledger is on the far right side of the page. I haven't been able to make out all of the words yet. It's interesting that such a late rifle would be a 3-1/4" chamber.
Are there stamps on the barrel and have you done a chamber cast?

If you look all the way to the right past the thicker line on the third step down from the top you will see mine referenced there.Shows that serial as a 303 Lee Enfield Sporting rifle.
I have a hunch that there must be a different ledger for your rifle.
Yes, would be unbearable with full house loads but with lighter loads or black powder would be wonderful! My last single shot I sold a few years ago .A Westley Richards in 500 NE. I never fired it as it weighed less than 8 lbs.View attachment 685165

Then I would have to insist that you take it hunting
Ah! Cool. I’d have to look at it on my desktop to enlarge it enough to read. You could rebarrel it to 6.5 creedmore and bring it up to date.......![]()
