Post up your Sharps here! And give a description.
Doesn’t have to be original, I just wanna see some classic American (or Italian repro!) single shots!

All three 45-70s, top two are Pedersoli bottom one is custom built

Original Model 1859 Sharps 52 caliber Infantry Rifle. Was typically issued to snipers, though toward the end of the war, the US Army was fielding veterans regiments which were to be armed with the Sharps rifle. Few were issued before the end of the war and only approx 11,000 total were produced.

Hopefully within the next few days I'll have something to post here. Although it's not a Sharps. That's still on the table for the future but I found a contemporary cousin that I couldn't quite pass up...

Heck I'll share a listing photo or two...

I did a trade for this:

Is it a Sharps? No, and I still want one badly. But I like the Remington design too; it's a bit more sleek and has plenty of military and hunting pedigree of its own.

Plus here's the fun part:

(Except it's not NE. It's smokeless loads for .450 black powder express.)

With luck it'll be here by tomorrow...

There’s something very nostalgic about shooting Buffalo guns, Lever guns and Single action revolvers. Hunting with them too. Also have similar caliber lever guns and many 1885 designs ( no Italians) in all the “Sharps Rifle Calibers”. A repeating 50-110 Lever gun, gets your attention, but nothing feels like an 1874 classic.

I don't want to corrupt this thread but I'm curious; how did you get a rolling block to accept a 3 1/4" cartridge? I have a 45-90 WCF rolling block and it barely accepts thar 2.4" cartridge.

I've seen some chambered for .45-120 and for larger bore cartridges than a .45/.450. I suppose it just depends on the barrel and the action used.

Love Sharps rifles and any quality sporting single shot.

Shiloh Sharps 50-70, octagon to round (1 of 10 made in this configuration)
Dakota Little Sharps, octagon .38-55
Shiloh Sharps 45-70, octagon to round

Not Sharps but 2 of my favorite vintage single shot sporting rifles...

Purdey .450 BPE on Alex Henry pattern with full rib
Alex Henry .451 percussion match rifle, Damascus barrel

Thanks for posting guys,
Just interested in who’s got a Sharps rifle though!
Love how on the websites you can play around with builds and options. I like the .50-95 and .40-50 (opposite ends of the spectrum, I know).
Reckon if I did a .50 I’d make it a bit more optioned out, and the .40-50 I’d get with a round barrel and built lighter and plainer.
The .45’s make the most sense though.

Yes, MVA scope. They are THE best option for scoping a Sharps. Many variations on the MVA scope...length, magnification, etc.

The length at the end is basically like a sun shade. It just spreads out the length on longer barreled guns.you can remove the front sight dovetail and extend it to the end, with a longer extension

Length also has an effect on where you want the mounting blocks...gives you different options. All of the scope tubes are one piece.
