Show Your Custom Rifles With Granite Mountain Arms Actions

Granite Mountain Arms African Magnum Mauser actions are my #1 favorite actions for dangerous game magazine rifles in the entire world.

Mike Roden was trained by the great American gunsmith, Fred Wells himself. Forged and as strong as they come. In my humble opinion, it's the only action that's 100% suitable for a .505 Gibbs build due to the correct sized bolt face.

I seem to remember the bolt face on the 505 is 3/4 of an inch . A monster action . Was the GMA action based on the Brevex ?

built in 2007, my pair on GMA African size actions, custom integral barrels, iron sights only, Luxus walnut, leather cover recoil pad, 25" barrels, nice handling for me:) Top is 505 Gibbs, bottom 416 Rigby.

PS Mike Roden loved the 505 Gibbs, hence the 3.85" mag box and 0.750" bolt face

Those rifles are great! I believe even the vaunted, cool and awesome Mauser Magnum action's bolt face diameter is .700, the same as CZ 550, Win Mod 70, Dakota 76, Ruger 77. I'm not 100% on all of those so somebody correct me if I'm mistaken. The .750 diameter is nice for the handful of 505 Gibbs shown on this thread.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.
