Show Us Your Hunting Knife

I somehow missed this thread, I’ll try to get photos of my favourites, one of which is a Ted Mitchell, first time I used it I cut myself, another is a Canadian style skinner that I made years ago

I have a couple of knives made by Ted. Nice knives that hold a brilliant edge. I was thet happy with mine I had Ted make one for my son. A beautiful Skinner based in the cold steel hunter.
Had him use NitroV steel. When I got it it was that sharp it would cut your eyeballs just looking at it.

What’s better than buying your wife a Benchmade Osborne 9400 automatic? Buy one for yourself. I almost went for the magna-cut stainless but the burnt copper color turned me off. Settled for a twin to my brides. Great everyday carry blade.

Smart putting orange paracord on it. So many times I’ve come close to loosing a knife amongst the leaves on the ground.

Exactly why I did it lol… that brown stained giraffe bone will do me no favors I’m sure lol..

I thought about using orange kydex on the sheath as well, but my wife said it would be overkill lol

You can also use P-cord with reflective strips imbedded. Used in tent tie downs
It isn’t showing well here. But from a distance it’s very bright View attachment 650595

Ive got some like that except its black with the reflective material sewn into it.. I use it for lashings/tie downs for our tent.. which has saved me more than once when stepping out at 3 AM in a half asleep stupor looking for a place to pee lol..

headlamp and reflective thread paracord are a must have in camp :)

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
