Show us your Blaser

Lovely! I didn’t even know they had a stock like that!
That does look nice. A little more traditional or what rifles mostly look like.
Nothing against them, I just thought up apquestion to post when quoting @BeeMaa
Not in my budget in the foreseeable future but not impossible.
I would find it hard justify having a hunting outfit of that value to carry in the bush but many do it. In Australia I expect you might be like $7000, plus mount, plus a nice scope so that totals $10,000. That’s a fair investment but a Rigby alone would exceed $10,000 and high end Mauser is probably the same
Anyway nice is nice and keep posting

Post your Pretty rifles then.
Mauser, Rigby or any other nice rifle.
Bob had a nice looking Whelen but he sold the pretty one.
@CBH
The pretty one is still up for sale mate but it's an AI but comes with dies and 50 odd fire formed cases as well and 3 to 12x40 scope and muzzle brake.
If you know any one looking for a Whelen AI give me a ring.
Bob

@CBH
In OZ rifle close on 8,000
Scope mount 825 dollars
Blaser scope 4,600 dollars.
Mummy would have a hissy fit.

I feel like a kid with a fun transformer toy when I open this case.

My 14 year old son hunted with his R8 professional today, I really appreciate how the safety system works.

I don’t need pretty wood on my guns. I see them as tools for a job that requires being in all kinds of weather and subject to rough use. I’ve been very pleased thus far. Going from elk hunting with a .300 WM barrel to squirrel hunting with the .22 LR on the same platform is great.

Post a pic, I’m not the only Aussie who might need one.

They are not so very pretty but come with a bit of history which I like - I have posted this pic before so sorry if I'm repeating myself

I must say, having read the other threads on peoples' Blasers, perhaps I should look at mine a bit more fondly

I've tended to regard mine as just a tool - however I am continually reminded of their technical brilliance and versatility

bowjijohn they look just fine

chris,
just get 3 customized tikkas or m70s, and 3 leupolds lower powered variables, and bank the difference.
bruce.
There you go again, making sense, saving me money that I cannot afford to spend. Not sure if I like that or not.
We will catch up again, and you can talk me down and I will remain a simple person.
Ah,ha, I have The Tikkas, make me see sense and spend the money hunting,
Mmm, we can meet a time your local gunshop and talk dreams and schemes then go home with just a packet of projectiles or a fox whistle.
After I shout you a coffee of course.

The word Blaser certainly stirs the pot.
Might as well say "muzzle break", "push feed" or "6.5CM".
At least when I see it in the title, I know what to expect.

They are not “Ugly” they do look unconventional. I do like the look of a nice traditional bolt action hunting rifle.
Mrs BeeMaa does have a nice stock and in that price point I would prefer Timber.
I also saw Strasser rifles online and I liked the styling of the forend, but they are limited in cartridge sizes and I don’t think they even have suit a .375H&H so they bottom out pretty early for hunting calibres. I think they are a similar concept to the Blaser switch barrel etc.
Strasser has .375 Ruger. They are neat guns and very similar.

My R8 family...R8 Jaeger and R8 Professional receivers. Four barrels with scopes. Two Blaser barrels in 6.5x55 and 30-06. Two J Sip & Sons in 308 and 9.3x62. The accuracy with all calibers and both receivers is sub moa.View attachment 374701
Wow very nice!

I believe the key word is had. I have not seen it their catalog lately. Frankly, that the only one I would consider purchasing.
You may need to look at their catalog again. There must be thousands of combinations of what you can choose with an R8. IMO if someone can’t find a combination they like maybe they don’t like guns? Not saying everyone needs one either....

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR MY RIFLE, ALWAYS APPROACH A NEW LOAD CAUTIOUSLY!!*
Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
