I ordered this rifle from Big Timber 30 years ago, and took possession 28 years ago. It is unfired. In the very desirable 45-2 4/10 chambering. Spirit level front sight for use with interchangeable inserts. The rear sight is the finest ever made for a Shiloh, and is no longer available. Upgraded wood, pewter forend, double triggers externally adjustable. 30" medium weight bbl. New condition, I could not find a handling mark. This rifle would cost well over $4000 today, but of course, would not be delivered on time, if at all. Shiloh lists many out of stock items, and has for the past two years or so. $3450 plus $150 shipping (it will cost a lot more than that but I will cover the additional) shipped in a hard case, well padded and insured for $5000. I think that this rifle can be sent individual to individual, but will check first and send legally, so made need your FFL....................FWB

I bought this rifle hoping to hunt wild bison one day. Received the draw results from Utah yesterday. 30 tries is enough. Now, hoping to generate a little money and hunt a different buffalo in Africa. Maybe I can draw THAT tag.....Somebody please buy this rifle, shoot a bison, and send me a pic....FWB

I'm in the same boat that you are with the Utah bison, but I'll try until Gizmo has a hunt on his ranch that I can grab.

Beautiful rifle, but I'll have to pass. I'm working on loads for my Browning M71 348 Winchester for the bison hunt.

"30 tries (years?) is enough" Wow! Sounds almost like my quest to draw a bull elk tag (26pp) in one of the premium game units here. You should be able to "draw" a buffalo tag in Africa if you have a couple of preference points I would imagine? Maybe even a Sable too with enough points? LOL

That's why I gave up on that unit and drew a unit 61 muzzle loader tag 10 years ago with 17 points.

You might have drawn a Cape Buffalo COW in Africa with 7-8pp? LOL Can you imagine if Africa required pp? It'd be 30 years or more before you could draw a bull buffalo tag and maybe double digit years for even a kudu or gemsbok?

Ya, @CoElkHunter 30 years for Utah, I alternated between Henry;s Mtns and Book Cliffs. Never had the money for Antelope Isl. @JimP No worries, I think a Mod 71 in 348 has enough history to make a great bison rifle. The cost of hunts in the Continental US. in either $ or preference points has become crazy. At my age it's time for the rifles that aren't being used to fund another trip to Africa.......FWB

Gun would need to go to an FFL to be legal.

Pretty gun, but money is too tight to buy guns this year.

@matt85 Thanks for info.........FWB

Beautiful rifle, really like the fiddleback in the butt stock. I would say you should keep it and use it for plains game on your cape buff hunt. My hunting buddy took a 45/110 and shot kudu, impala, and warthog with it.

How much does it weigh? Maybe there’s a BPCR enthusiast some in the ranks.
There is one right here who'd love a Sharps.

But he just traded for a Remington rolling-block in .450 BPE...

It weighs 10.4 pounds.............FWB

I hunted elephant with Luke Samaris in 2005. It was my fourth safari and I tell you he is a fine gentleman the best. I got the opportunity to meet Patty Curtis, although never hunted with him but enjoyed our conversation around our tent in the Selous. Very sad for a tough guy to leave this world the way he did. Let’s pray the murderers are caught. I hope to see Luke in Nashville.
