Thank you Sir, I personally think you give very good advice. One thing I want to add from a outfitter's point of view is that the hunter must be true to tell the outfitter exactly what he expects from the hunt before he books. People differ and different people want different things for different or sometimes obvious reasons, like difficulty of the hunt, and this is one thing that a Outfitter with different properties can definitely offer. Animals on different concessions are reacting different because of the main reason: hunting pressure, also vegetation, landscape or even water availability and size of the herd. Regarding these reasons, size of a property doesn't matter that much. Sometimes a buffalo hunt on smaller concessions with lesser animals, that's been hunted hard, can be more difficult than in big areas where the animals are in abundance and don't see people a lot. This way he, the outfitter, can offer you exactly what you want even if the property is not 50,000 acres. A good outfitter always wants to give his client exactly what he wants and with different concessions this is possible. Giving you a hunt to remember!
There is a lot to consider here so I made a video on the subject. Best of luck planning a great adventure!

I don't mind a reasonable drive from Joberg, provided someone picks me up and drives me from the Airport. I do not prefer EC, as I have experienced hunting in that area before. I would like as remote as possible within a couple hours of OR Tambo. I like the idea of spending time in/around Kruger.
You won't have any trouble finding a good outfitter. Several good responses from outfitters already.

I hunted with Tsala this past year, great hunt, super friendly family to be around. While I was there to do a cull package, I saw some huge buffalo bulls and I would definitely go back to hunt buffalo there. One really nice thing is if you land on the 5:45PM United Flight, Rouan will be at the airport to take you to camp so you do not have to overnight in Johannesburg. It was a 2 hour drive from the airport to camp.

I would like to recommend Pieter Potgieter of Motsomi Safari. Between him, his wife Ria and his PH Marco, they provided us with a wonderful safari, buffalo in Makuya, plains game on their other properties. Ria was very accommodating on the after hunt activities although shopping wasn't on our to do list. We went great white shark cage diving of the coast by Cape Town. Now that is an experience to remember. The was arranged by Ria, as well as the travel, firearms storage and accommodation.
This particular outfitter is coming to the Outdoor Expo in my hometown in March. Looking forward to meeting and talking with them. They have a very good website.
