Talked to Butch today and he's doing fine. After two back and two knee surgery's he's on his feet working 12 hour days. he remembered my rifle and the reason for my call was to find the birth date. Looks like this beauty was born in 1997. He said it regulated well with the major brands of ammo and regulation distance was 100 yrds. Thought I would pass this on.
Unquestionably a great gun at a great price. I hve been watching the double rifle market pretty closely for the past year or so and nothing seems to be moving. Just a really soft market right now. Still, doubles like this one which are virtually brand new with no risk of getting someone elses problem child aren't exactly growing on trees.
For anyone considering this rifle, I have purchased several rifles from @Heym 88 and would not hesitate to do so again in a heartbeat. This gun will be exactly as advertised and the transaction will be smooth and swift. You won't find a more stand up seller and good guy.
I really hope someone here on AH ends up with this fine rifle.
Congratulations to both you, Heym88, Sir, and the lucky buyer; I really admire the lines on butch Searcy's rifles ... Maybe an ejector 470 in the future... There's something about wood and steel, worked by a craftsman ...
Saw a good looking knife you posted a pic of with the watermelon. Can I ask the make? Looks like you hunted with Guav Johnson? We overlapped in the Save once. Would like to hunt with him one day..
