I’ve just got back from spending a few days up in the Scottish highlands stalking red hinds on
Rhiedorrach Estate in Glenshee. The estate pretty much borders Balmoral and is a traditional Scottish shooting estate. There were 3 of us who went up but that number seems to have grown already for a future return trip.

We saw lots of deer and had multiple successful stalks each day. It was nice to also see a healthy population of Grouse all over the hills as well as mountain hairs.

Im sure lots of pints were enjoyed or a
Dram by the fire

That looks like a wonderful experience. What were the temperatures? Shot distances? About how far do you hike per day?

Looks like a fun trip! Are you going to take me along next time?

What guns saw action ? Anything interesting?

Is that the companies supplied, suppressed rifle?
Or the guides rifle.

It never got above 0 degrees Celsius and at night got down to -9 degrees. Its get a lot colder up there as the season goes on.

The majority of shots were between 200-250 yards. I did have to make one at 440 but that was a follow up shot before she made it over the other side of the mountain...

In terms of hiking, you want to be fit to make the most of it. We hiked 6-10 miles per day but its the up and down which gets you.

I'll bet the climbing was a challenge. That one photo sure shows how steep the terrain is.
Glad you enjoyed your stalks in the hills. Congratulations.

Excellent, thanks for posting. Loved the pictures.

It does look like a challenging hunt, in that cold :E Cold:

Congratulations on the good results !

Looks like a lot of fun, beautiful country up there in the Highlands

Hi, great photos!

Was this accompanied or unaccompanied stalking? I am looking for unaccompanied highland stag stalking. Any recommendations?

You could reach out to Cara Hutchins at International Big Game:
girlboots@btinternet.com

She may have a line on how to do this.
