Scopes for 404 Jeffrey?

Oom Gert...

Ageing eyes and a cracked skull is probably not the solution you are looking for :LOL::LOL:

My mother did not raise her son to be afraid ....:D long eye relief will get the correct results...(y)

I'd have or should I I do have Schmidt and benders over leupold on my rifle 6x42 is a great scope I've one for woodland stalking brilliant in near dark same as the 8x56

But for driven game and a bush rifle my 375 H&H wears a 1.5-6x42 I can shoot deer to 200 yards happily further if my land would allow close deer at 50yards the magnification on 6 is not to high for faster shots but also shoot running quarry on 1.5.

But I don't think I'd use a 6x42 on a 404

Before I can change scopes, I need to get 26 mm diameter rings for the Schmidt&Bender, this coming hunting season I will hunt with the 404 Jeffery scoped with the 1.5-5 x 20 ....but looking through the Schmidt&Bender today I can not fault it`s clear and crisp glass...I know I need to try it on the 404 Jeffery the next hunting season...I need to know what scope of the two will be the best to fit and use on my 404 Jeffery, this rifle will be my "to go to" rifle when I walk into my safe come the hunting season.(y)(y)

I use :
MeoPro 3-9 x 42 on 400Jeffery
old classic Carl Zeis Jena 4 x 32 on 375H&H
Leupold 3-9 x 50 on 9,3 x 62Mauser
Scmidt & Bender 6 x 42 on 275Rigby

Rookhawk, as DM Shooting pointed out, this is one of the older models from the 1980 era..still solid, still clear as a trout stream in the Drakensberg mountains or in Montana mountain range....

Never heard of 26 mm rings until today! Would have thought the same as you!

now guys don't forget S&B PMII's are 34mm tubes and if you want to get really crazy Zeiss new stuff has 36mm monster main tubes!

Some 1" rings can be opened up to 26mm. 30mm rings can be shimmed, not sure how well this would work on the hard kickers though.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
