Scope mounts for Mauser 98

I decided on Warne bases and rings on my .375 M98 Zastava. A big part of my decision is that the Warne bases do not cover any part of the ejection/loading port. I am sure there are other bases available as well that do not, but some do. I don't want anything hindering reloading in a tense situation. Talleys look a bit more sleek and refined, but very happy with the Warnes return to zero and stoutness.

That looks like a Parker Hale safety, they are designed to be flicked with the thumb

I’m looking for suggestions for suitable 30mm bases and rings for a friends Mauser 98 large ring actioned .375 to update the antique 1in Weaver scope to a 30mm Swarovski Z6i 1-6. I’m not sure if the Leupold QD bases and rings will work as they are listed for an FN Mauser 98
Any suggestions gratefully appreciated for both QD and fixed mounts.

It depends if it is a factory sporter action ie FN , Zastava , Santa Barbra, Parker Hale ect with 2 screw holes in each receiver ring no thumb cut out & stripper clip guide. OR or a military action that some body has ground off the clip guide & drilled & tapped , some of these have odd shaped rear bridge & only 1 screw hole in it. Bases listed for FN 98 are for late model sporter actions. I have used 2 piece Leupold & Warne bases on these , to mount a short tubed scope you may need a extended to the rear front base, or a extended to front rear base.

I bought a Weaver K6-60B off of Ebay and mounted it in Weaver pivot mounts. The K6 as you can see has a very long scope body so mounting it on the long Mauser action is not a problem. The scope is very clear and bright for it's age (much better than my eyes) and the 60Bs are considered the best of the Weaver steel tubes.
I know that many of you don't like the pivot mounts (calling them flimsy, etc) but I have had zero issues with them in the past and they were very popular among deer hunters in the north woods for decades and I like the option of switching back and forth easily.

I am at a loss to understand why right handed people choose to mount the quick detach levers on the left side of the scope. They don't interfere with loading any more than the elevation turret on right side of scope. Levers on the left side are more prone to get caught in clothing when the rifle is slung or debris when rifle is carried. I have the levers on the right side pointing at the turret. I want everything accessible to my right hand because ... I am right handed. With levers on the left side I have to leave the rifle with left hand that's naturally holding the rifle at balance point ahead of the magazine, change grip to right hand so left hand can unscrew the levers, then change to left hand grip to lift off the scope with right hand. Why?
