I was looking for the link to SCIs statement, when I realized that was their statement. You have to be kidding! The silence by these organizations is sickening.
I agree with Johnnyblues, and sitting on your hands remaining quite is completely the wrong thing to do. Organizations need to be showing the benefits of hunting. How about taking full pages in major newspapers and showing images of animals that have been poached in areas where no hunting dollars are going, or write a piece on the bushmeat black market. Do they not want to spend the money or what? If the leadership of SCI isn't capable of expressing the benefits of hunting and rising to this occasion, than those people need to get the hell out of there and replaced by those who can!
As far as hunters who do not hunt internationally or plan to, they are naïve if they think the anti groups are going to stop with Africa. When the fight comes to them, they'll be just like SCI and have their heads up their asses.
