Savannah my faithful companion

Very sorry, dogs can add so much to our lives ! We lost our Gus last year after 17 years.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass,
his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy
kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet,
so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

My condolences, we all know the feeling. We just put down our Caesar about a week ago.

Thanks again gents for the kind words, they mean a lot, and my wife and I thank you from our heart!

My wife has been having a real tough time dealing with our loss. She has been second guessing our decision, even though it was the right one, she is having a hard time dealing with it. This weekend has been the toughest because we've been in the house more, and we can't overlook the fact that she is not around anymore. Time is our friend, and our hearts will heal, but her wonderful memories will live with us until the day we meet again.

The vet is making a set of paw prints for my wife, and we are having Savannah cremated, and will burry her next to our Whipping Willow tree. There is not a moment that goes by that we think of her and get teary eye thinking of her, but we find comfort knowing that she is not suffering any more and knowing that she is running in the green fields of puppy heaven free of pain.

Again, thank you for your kind words and support during this difficult time.

I’m so sorry my friend. Brought tears to my eyes.

To everyone that has ever lost a pet. A great poem.... Free now to run,jump and play. Or snooze in the shade on a sunny day to sit for hours watching birds in the trees. Or to lie on the porch and enjoy the breeze. Free from sickness that made me weak. Restored to the dog that I was at my peak. You made the right choice for me my friend. Be at ease with yourself and let your heart mend. no more vets,shots or pill. And while you can't see me, I am here with you still. For though you may think that we really did part I m there in your memories, I'm here in your heart.
