If you going to wear camo, make sure nothing matches. Six different ones work. :E Rofl:

@Hogpatrol I like your style!
With that rifle/scope combo and the distance you can shoot I think you could wear an Elvis suit and never be seen.

What combo are you shooting?

Damn dude.
Should be able to see into the future with that kind of glass. (y)

The old eyeballs aren't what they used to be but good glass helps.:D

I know what you mean.
Upgrading myself to a Swaro Z8i next year on my 375H&H.

Apologies for the temporary thread hi-jack.

Just an FYI, this photo was taken in the Northern Cape during June. It was a little chilly so I wore a goose down jacket under that lightweight jacket. Pants were after the season 9.95 specials from Wally World. The rest of the stuff was from King's Camo, Cabela's and Amazon.

I hunted Limpopo in April. I had two pair of Carhartt khaki shorts and two OD Columbia button up shirts. I did splurge and get a First Light jacket. I would get gaiters as others have stated.

My wife and I both brought gaiters (Kuiu) and never once unpacked them.
Our first day of hunting didn't give us an opportunity to put them on, then we saw the size and shape of the thorns.
I'm not sure they would have faired well against the thorns given the way the kind of material they are made from.
We thought it best to not possibly shred our North American hunting gaiters and just see how the pants by themselves fair.
This isn't a criticism of Kuiu or their product, it's just that they were designed for heavy water and lighter brush sheep hunting - not Africa.

Our PH said that if wearing shorts that the shorter style gaiters are a necessity because the grass seeds will ruin a pair of socks.
He said it's easier to just throw the socks out and start over if you didn't bring gaiters.
I'll skip the shorts and gaiters altogether and stick with long pants and 8" boots to avoid stickers/thorns/grass seeds.

I wore Army boots (I think they are an 8" boot) that were close to retirement for my hunt and used blousing bands for my pant cuffs, and I experienced zero problems with stickers and grass seeds.

I just finished a week in South Africa.. I wore cheap olive and khaki colored cargo shorts, some old beat up brown and green columbia pfg camp shirts, a nappy old wide brimmed cap, a set of $10 boyt canvas gaiters and a 3 year old pair of new balance hiking boots all week..

The buffalo, warthogs, and hartebeest didn’t seem to mind at all

Pick up some surplus North Korean camo. It’s amazing!

I bet if you hold that stuff up to a light, you can see through it. Aside that, if that isn't a brush fire waiting to happen, I don't know what is.

That guy in the front wouldn’t be able to tell, he’s shooting with his eyes closed

I just want to be the guy in the back standing up. Everybody else is going to be shot by his own team or at least have powder burns/and/or total hearing loss.

Or their logo ball cap, which I don't do because I don't wear ball caps.

I'd do the shirt, but I've yet to be offered one.
Nobody is mentioning those nice shirts with logos our Outfitters give us :D

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
