This hardcover book was Keith's only African big game hunting book. Published in 1968 in a very small edition. 167 pages with profuse color and B&W illustrations. Keith defined his view of appropriate calibers and guns for an African safari. Keith's guns and those of the book's publisher are featured. Keith did a lot of dangerous game work with a Westly Richards .476 and Champlin custom bolt guns. This title is now very hard to find, and this particular book has provenance by virtue of it being signed and inscribed by the publisher, Truman Fowler, who was quite a destination hunter himself. It contains pictures of Fowler's extensive custom gun battery also. The book is in fine condition and the dust jacket is in similar condition. Considered a collectable rarity and a piece of gun writer Americana, but it offers good perspective and remains very informative for safari hunting even today. Pictures of a selection of pages are attached. Compare at $350 -$375 for just a standard unsigned or non-inscribed copy. I paid $300 for an unsigned copy at a Dallas gun show back in 1984. This one is $295 with prompt shipping & insurance included in the price. Thank you.
