Ruger, Winchester or Remington who makes a better

Yep , if I was doing a 7x57 I would be hunting for aesthetics’s , very good looking wood, finish, then searching around for accuracy with 7x57 being a slight bit a more nostalgic cartridge than a typical 7mm-08 or .308win performance type cartridge

The only 7x57 that I happen to own is a Ruger round top. I proved surprising accurate with older Norma factory loads.

Caliber rifle in 7X57 or they are almost the same?
I don't know where you're located, nut in the US finding any of those in 7x57 may be close to impossible. My cousin found a Model 70 Featherweight quite a few years ago. I've been jealous ever since!

I got lucky and found an unfired New Haven built Mod 70 featherweight 7x57 a few months ago, beautiful rifle. They are out there, just got to look and be patient.

They are out there but it takes determined effort to find them. I picked up a Mauser 98 half round half octagon barrel proofed in 1940 last year. It is a shooter with 2” groups at a hundred yards with open sights.

From what you have listed, the Win M-70 would be my choice. Keep it as light as possible for those long hunts.

However don’t discount a nice light stalking rifle like the Kipplauf. The Blaser K95 in 7x65R would be a dream to carry all day and it’s available in some exquisite timber stocks.

Plus, it’s not like you are hunting DG with a 7mm, so having a magazine rifle isn’t an absolute necessity.

I'd look for a Ruger No.1. :)

@SStomcat - I agree with several others that stated “personal preference” and don’t think there is any real “quality difference” between Ruger/Remington/Winchester these days. But I think Ruger has the best Customer Service by far——in the event you ever need that. Interested in what others think?

I just wished that Weatherby would offer their Vanguard in the 7x57.

I have a couple of the Howa made Vanguards and they are definitely shooters, and now with the wood stock option they are good looking rifles.

Yes, they are, and you get a lot of rifle for the price.

US and I find them in gunbroker quite often.

None of them offer a rifle in 7x57mm Mauser anymore, but they all once did. My personal favorite would have to be the Remington Model 30 Express.

My own 7x57mm Mauser is an English E.J Churchill Gun Makers Model Deluxe and it’s been serving me dutifully ever since 1989.

Winchester M70 in CRF. I have had all three. The model 70 is more accurate and easier to manage than the others. The Rem 700 is clunky and the Ruger is clunkier still.
