Ruger/Winchester African/Safari Express Wish list

Teaching Winchester how to properly bed the stocks of their new M70 rifles.

An interesting bit of trivia , the original pre War Winchester M70 rifles in .375 Holland & Holland Magnum actually did have a 4+1 magazine capacity.

Back in the 1990s until 2007 , the Winchester Custom Shop ( long since defunct ) actually used to offer the option for an extended drop box magazine on their large caliber M70s .

The Model 70 Safari Express is great out of the box, IMO. Nice smooth action, accurate, and a good weight to it.

The only things I'd change with it: higher grade wood, heavier barrel in .416 and .458 (similar to the Rugers they use one barrel weight), and add 338 Win Mag, 458 Lott, and 500 Jeffery chamberings.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
