Ruger Hawkeye African...in 9.3x62

Ses,
i'm really praying that the 250gn T.Shoks shoot well enough in my 9.3 rifle.
I went and bought 500 in one lot, and am stuck with them now.

My rifle is a 1:12 twist barrel of good quality, i'm hoping thats not too slow for that projectile weight/style.

My problem is that my magazine length will limit me to crimping those T.Shoks over the final band meaning they protrude quite a bit into the case and reducing capacity a bit.
Hence me buying the 250gn's over the 270gn's.

I have used the T.Shoks extensively in .375 and am hoping they work as well in 9.3mm.

I'm not an accuracy freak, these will be hunting loads and if I can get 1.5 - 2" groups reliably at 100yds that is all well enough for my purposes.

Are you getting at least 2" groups with the T.Shoks in your x62mm ?
Do you crimp the T.Shoks ?
Do you know what your barrel twist is ?

Thank-you,

Paul.

Paul I think you'll be alright, but let us know how it works out. I know I did the same thing years ago with my 45/70 I bought 1000 bullets in one lot for a heck of a price. They were lasercast silver bullets the original silver bullet. I got lucky as hell and they shot great. Hope the same for you.

Did you ever procure your Mannlicher stocked 9.3?

first of all, euro throat is important for euro cartridge shooting euro ammo.
any other throat is wrong and dangerous, as could produce overpressure.
which raises the question, why crimp bullets in the 9.3x62.
there is no need to crimp x64 or 375 bullets, and the x62 is milder.
bruce.

I have a used Ruger Hawkeye in 375 Ruger caliber, I purchased to resell ,as it was cheap, and Im an old dyed in the wool 375 H&H,er n0 need for some new kid on the block making big claims, well that was my attitude for quite a number of years and still is BUT Im eating crow these days!! I LOVE EVERY THING ABOUT THIS 375 RUGER..It shoots pin holes, weighs 7.5 lbs naked, 8.5 lbs with my 3X or 4X Leupold..points like a Boss double, good trigger, satin blue, solid recoil pad, glass bedded, barrel band front sight island rear with a shallow V, everything I ever wanted for cape buffalo and elk that I still hunt often.

Hard to beat the gun or the caliber and I like that none belted case, as well, but keeping in mind that I have no problem with a belted case, its proven itself for ions, I find it stupid to bad mouth it..

I also like long throats that fit the magazine, but that modification has nothing to do with pressure, too much powder causes too much pressure. the long throat will take more powder and folks sometimes tend to load it too hot and that creates pressure, Ive done that myself, and had to back of a tad..but still got Ackley Imp ballistics, just another way of improving a case.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
