I’m getting outvoted but I like the right. I like that it has more figure in the fore end. And particularly like that solid line of black grain that goes pretty much from fire end through the wrist to that piece if burl on the end of the butt.

I chose the right one. I like the heavier mineral streaks. (Though I could have done without the knots on the right-hand side. However, they do not seem to be in a place where it has any structural importance). Grain flow through the wrists seem about equal. The grain in the foreend seems to be much straighter in the stock on the right, which could be better a/o reduce the risk of warping over time.

But both are really, really beautiful. Congratulations to you for having such a dilemma! :)

Agree! I did the same again by a very slim margin.
Just curious…should there be any concern about the dark wood line running through the wrist on the right one? Stock experts please reply…it is beautiful!

Was a hard choice, but I picked left.

What additional upgrades are you having added. Certainly beautifully stocked for sure, both options gorgeous…albeit, I voted right. My Rigby BGR is their standard build, so grave 5 wood but nicely figured and loved the deeper red color. While very nicely figured, it’s like lumber compared to either of those pieces.

I do like the dark mineral streaks in both, and preferred the buttstock section on the left, but by such a small margin that the differences in the fore end and color tint had my vote lean right. Excited to see photos and report when finished.

No other upgrades, just the wood

I voted originally for the one on the right, however either was a great selection. Congratz on your selection and enjoy shooting it.
