If a Remington Core-Lokt will do the job, why waste money on anything else???

Good question. I've shot a couple of deer and pronghorn with a 150gr. Core Lokt before I switched to a Nosler Partition. I've shot ALL of my elk to date with a 225gr. Core Lokt in my .338WM. ALL one shot kills! They won't work on PG in Africa though due to the magnetic field anomaly closer to the equator, so find a better and MUCH more expensive bullet. LOL

Perhaps you are correct, but they have all seemed very deadly on animals north of the tropic of Cancer.



I think they also work just fine on animals south of the tropic of Capricorn, but you might have to go a few hundred miles farther south. I bet they smoke Leopard seals!

My son is 25. He and his friends are much better patriots, people, and rock-ribbed conservatives, than my friends and I were in 1989.

I won't get into religion, but they seem to be the ones who are seem to be much more solid than my early Gen-X'er compadres and myself were.

The Greatest Generation had the Boomers, and (for some reason) everything when to s##t (probably because everything was too easy for them). The Boomer's had the Millennials, who seem, on average, about as bad.


My mom & dad are of the "Silent Generation" (high-school and college in the 50's and early 60's) - there may not be all that many of their children and grandchildren, but I think there is hope in the Gen Z'ers.

LOL… The biggest Eland I’ve taken to date was with a good old Core-Lokt from an 06. Neither the cartridge or the bullet are apparently sufficient for plains game any longer. It’s a pity, the 06 was one of my favourite hunting cartridges.

Very sad. I've heard if you coat the Core Lokts with Bovril or Vegemite and let them dry overnight, that'll mitigate the magnetic anomaly and they'll work again just fine? At least that's the word Townsend @Bob Nelson 35Whelen has been spreading down in OZ. They have the same problem there with being close to the equator.
