That bore is definitely like new.
Zephyr, did you know the Benoit’s? I’ve only read about them and own one of their books - incredible Hunters and they practiced (perfected) a true North Woods “style” of hunting that few others do: find a big track in the snow and walk it for Miles & Miles & Miles, jump the Buck and shoot it - often on the run.....impressive. Takes skill, knowledge, persistence, and physical stamina, also “Woodsmenship” because eventually you gotta find your way home !! And drag out a 200lb deer. Their 760s were open sights and from photos appeared “really beat up” but they were used as intended - to Hunt Hard. I admire their style a consider them “true hunters” in a class by themselves. They may never kill a B&C record but every buck they take is a real Trophy, few men could do what they do.....I wish I could !Grew up with the Benoit Family of Vermont and Big Woods White Tail legends they all carried 760's..
Have a good friend who has been buying them up and re-barreling them in 9.3x62 for friends But says that the prices on the used market has made it difficult
Good Luck with your sale lovely rifle
