Dusted off my Remington 700BDL bull barrel 22-250. Been working on a new load for 55gr Hornady Vmax. I've tried multiple powders including H380, CFE223, IMR3031, and H100V. Contrary to popular opinion H380 ended up being the most inaccurate powder I tested. CFE223 was extremely accurate but varied a lot from cool to hot weather so I ended up settling on this load using H100V. I'm 100% sure the 1 pulled shot was my fault as it was getting dark and I was having a lot of back and leg pain last night.

Good shooting ! What vintage is your rifle ? I had a mentor as a kid, an older gentleman who lived on a property carved out from our farm. He had 700 BDL Varmints in .222 and .22-250, as an 8-9 year old I was enamored with his .22-250 and the distance he killed groundhogs with it. I settled on a .243 as my woodchuck rifle, but have always thought about picking up a 22-250 like the one he had.

The 700 Varmint Special in 22-250 with a Unertl Ultra Varmint scope was my dream rifle as a young man. I remember studying the early 70s Remington catalog when I should have been doing schoolwork. I never did get a Varmint Special but did come across a 1977, 700 BDL sporter 22-250 in the original box several years ago. That Varmint Special itch still needs scratching though if a clean, early one comes along.
Nice shooting!

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
