Remembering Pearl Harbor

Thank you for the reminder, I tend to get caught up in day-to-day. I was there in 1999. I was younger then and didn't quite get it. In 2019 I visited Normandy and that we really caused me to pause and thank those who have served us so we have our freedoms.

Thanks as well.

I tend to believe 2 things, in a general sort of way, and maybe it's just the way things are going to go, and there's no stopping a train that has left the station. I think that people are forgetting how to write, or maybe they're just not being taught/learning, and they are forgetting history - or they're not being taught/learning. I don't think of myself as a cynic, and both make me sad and a little curmudeonly.

I have a weekly radio program up here that seems to be popular. It's supposed to be about wildlife, outdoor activities, and the Refuge system, and it is. But I also use it to highlight things like history. Yesterday's episode was about Pearl Harbor. One way of waving my fist I guess... :ROFLMAO: :p I do get people who stop me at the store or post office, and engage me in conversation about things that have been on the show, so maybe a few of the clouds are listening.

My inlaws lived in Honolulu back in the 70s and we would visit 2 or 3 times a year. Always made it a point to visit the Arizona Memorial and Pearl Harbor Memorials every time. Very sobering moments to read all the inscriptions and comments and tour the museum. Battleship Missouri was another must see. One year we watched as she was towed to drydock for maintenance and repair. A very impressive sight. One could just imagine her under full sail.
Being former Navy and in the US Army reserve at the time they were all quite relevent. Places every serving or former military person should make a special point to visit at some time. The are a vital part of our history.

It was a sad day, as the U.S Navy got caught flat footed at Pearl Harbor.

That day was a double-edged sword. It also spawned the use of atomic weapons of war.

When you think about it in WW2 the Japs were the Enemy & China a friend now the roles are reversed,
My father a veteran of the North Africa campaign & the Pacific, hated the Japs until the day he died.
I have visited Pearl Harbour, i wonder what would the out come of WW2 would have been if the Japs did not attack on DEC 7 ? & bring the USA in to the war. May be Hitler would have developed the Bomb.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris

I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
