I recently picked up a Ruger Alaskan .416. I’m looking for a mount for a red dot sight. So far all I’ve found are the Ruger rings. What I need is a picatinni rail.

I believe Wiegand makes one
They do but they also recommend using it on rifles below 338 WM.

You might talk to Weigand and see what they think. A red dot is not the same amount of mass as a large rifle scope, so the the rail might be able to handle it.

Weigand recommends a "drill and tap" mount on the big magnums.

I am interested in the solution, too.

What's the recommendation for the red dot? I was considering getting one for my 458

Looks like Burris Fastfire mounts may be available

I actually have one of these mounts that I used with a Fastfire red dot sight. I like the mount, but the Fastfire went bad. Not sure what caused the failure, but I wouldn't trust another one on a heavy recoiling gun.

Hello,

I saw your post selling left hand rifles. Do you have any additional pics of the .416 Rem mag?

Thank you.
